Where I’m Spending My Time in 2021
There are only so many hours in the day.
--
Every midnight, you get a gift of another 24 hours.
How you spend those hours is completely up to you.
Will you waste them or spend them working on needle-moving activities?
This matters because no matter how you spend your time, one fact remains: you can’t ever get the time you wasted back.
So, as I navigate 2021, I have decided on 5 places where I will spend my time. I’m not going to be everywhere, just where my people are (or, as Seth Godin puts it, my tribe).
Plus, I want to have fun this year too.
Life can’t be, nor should it be, all about work.
The Mark Struczewski Podcast
When I entered the wonderful world of entrepreneurship in July 2005, two things were pounded into my head constantly.
- Build your email list.
- Create content you own.
I wish I could tell you that I’ve done that without wavering, but that would be a lie. (Had I done so, my list would be much larger than it is now!)
After course-correcting yet again, I’m back to focusing on these two things now.
I started The Mark Struczewski Podcast because, in the Spring of 2017, I heard super-entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk say that the future is voice and audio.
I went to Google and typed, “How do you start a podcast?”. I got a gazillion hits.
On July 7, 2017, I launched the show.
Not only have I released over 725 episodes, but I’ve committed to releasing a brand new episode every day in 2021. For someone like Gary Vaynerchuk, who has a team, this is not a big deal. But for my wife, who is my editor, and me, it is.
I love serving people through the podcast. Plus, because I own it, no one other than my listeners can tell me what to do.
